Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika Or substitute regular paprika
  • 2 tablespoons cumin
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon coriander
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • ½ tablespoon onion powder
  • ½ tablespoon Mexican oregano

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a medium bowl, and mix well.
  • Transfer chili seasoning to an airtight container.

Notes

  • I prefer to store my homemade rubs and seasonings in plastic seasoning bottles.  You can choose from a wide variety of rub bottles on Amazon, or thoroughly wash and dry an empty spice bottle that you already have.
  • This chili seasoning recipe makes enough seasoning for a large pot of chili, with 2-3 pounds of meat and multiple cans of tomatoes/beans.
  • If you prefer a spicy chili, add 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper.
