Texas-Style Rub

This Texas style rub is a great all-purpose seasoning for a variety of smoked meats, from brisket to pulled pork. And with just 4 simple ingredients that you already have in your pantry, you can make a batch quickly and easily.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons coarse black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Lawry's seasoned salt
  • 1 tablespooon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon granulated garlic

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a medium bowl. Mix well.
  • Store Texas rub in an airtight container.

Notes

  • This all-purpose Texas rub recipe is perfect for beef or pork.  It also makes a great base layer of seasoning, and you can easily combine it with sweeter barbecue rubs depending on what flavor profile you are wanting.
  • I prefer to store my homemade rubs in plastic seasoning bottles.  You can choose from a wide variety of rub bottles on Amazon, or thoroughly wash and dry an empty spice bottle that you already have.
